| 概要 | The history of the reception of Islam in Japan began in earnest in 1868 after the Meiji Restoration (Meiji Ishin). In 1920, the first Japanese translation of the Qur’ān appeared, and up till now there have been five more. Using these six works, this paper will examine the kinds of transitions the history of the translation went through, focusing on style and stance and discussing the background of the transitions. |
